Considerations When Shopping for PVC Conduits and Cor-Line

Conduits are typically used for underground or wet-location applications and offer corrosion protection to wiring systems.

When shopping for conduits, here are a few points to consider:

• Location of where you intend to install the conduit - PVC, or PVC-coated conduits are typically used in underground applications. Cor-Line conduits are used in construction (i.e. encased concrete, concealment in walls or ceilings, and direct burial applications).
• Applications - residential (low or high rise), commercial (low or high rise), institutional, hospitals and nursing homes, stadiums and arenas
• Sizing specifications - consider pipe size, outside diameter, nominal wall thickness, nominal inside diameter, cross section area in square, length without couplings, and minimum weight per foot steel
• Certifications - is the conduit industry standard for your application? (i.e. CSA, NEMA, and FT-4)
• Storage and handling - consider the temperature range the conduit is approved for. Can the conduit be stored outside?
