What you will be doing
As a Counter Sales representative you will work as part of a team and act as the face of Gerrie Electric, handling inquiries, ensuring that Gerrie Electric provides exceptional service to our valued customers by:Â
Growing and maintaining relationships with customers (we have a lot of repeat customers)Â
You will connect with customers to address questions and resolve issues through different channels including face-to-face, by email and over the phoneÂ
Pricing, order entry, sourcing products, and expeditingÂ
Continuous learning of electrical, lighting and automation products and sharing your knowledge with customersÂ
In-store merchandising of day-to-day stock, as well as new and promotional productsÂ
Other duties as assigned (we’ll keep you busy!)Â
What you bring to the table
The Counter Sales position is responsible for greeting customers and receiving and generating their orders efficiently and effectively. To, always, provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers and give them the upmost of assistance with regards to product availability, pricing and sourcing of material. To display an ongoing commitment to understand, promote and believe in the Gerrie commitment of being a service quality organization and to strive to maintain and continue to seek ways to improve the overall service quality. Â
CUSTOMER SERVICE/ SALESÂ
Maintain friendly service and a positive company image. Â
Service customer needs promptly and efficiently, addressing customer questions or concerns. Â
Handle customer returns/defectives.Â
Handle customer orders.Â
Provide assistance/backup in shipping and receiving when required.Â
Promoting products, contributing to branch sales. Â
Direct sales services of the general public. Â
Provide pricing and availability. Â
Enter customer orders into the business system as per Gerrie procedures.Â
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGEÂ
Maintaining current knowledge of electrical industry/products.Â
Develop knowledge about substitutes.Â
Be able to source products and provide technical information.Â
Continue to develop your skill set as it related to the Gerrie Organization, the Electrical Industry, and the field of Sales. Â
TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATIONÂ
Work with other departments as required, conveying a professional corporate image that represents the values of Gerrie Electric. Â
GENERALÂ
Responsible for preparation and balancing of cash sales.Â
Ensure all shelves are stocked and material is put away in a timely fashion. Â
Ensure float is counter and all transactions are accurate and balanced.Â
Ensure timely completion of any/all special tasks as assigned by management.Â
Select and pack orders.Â
When required, perform wire cuts as per Gerrie documented procedure. Â
QUALITYÂ
Accuracy of transactions/orders. Â
Ensure understanding of and adhere to ISO policies and procedures. Â
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTÂ
Participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities, reading Â
professional publications; maintain and participate in professional networks to enhance your knowledge and skills. Â
Participates on committees and special projects as requested. Â
